Did you know?
Charles III is King of the United Kingdom and the 14 other Commonwealth realms. He was the longest-serving heir apparent and Prince of Wales, and at the age of 73, became the oldest person to accede to the British throne, upon the death of his mother, Elizabeth II, on 8 September 2022.
He was the first heir to the British throne to acquire a university degree when he was made a Bachelor of Arts by Cambridge University. After his education, King Charles III served in the Royal Air Force, where he learned to fly, and in the Royal Navy, where he commanded a minesweeper HMS Bronington.
King Charles has always enjoyed sports, especially polo, which he played as a young man. He likes skiing, fishing, and painting, and he is interested in architecture, the countryside, and organic farming.
